In the morning the wind was moderate, but suddenly a storm with heavy rain began. At 1 a.m., they were suddenly on a shoal and the ship was filling with water. The ongoing storm did not allow to abandon the ship immediately. They tried to salvage as much of the cargo and rigging as possible. The ship was declared a wreck.
