Story of Sinking: On her way from Riga to Saint Petersburg, the Russian ship (Galias; according to the skipper, yacht (Jagd)) under the command of skipper Anton Ivanov Bragin, grounded on the Nordväin shoal (21 versts from the island). With the help of the peasants from Vormsi island, salvage operations were started, but a storm interfered with the work. The crew was rescued and most of the rigging salvaged. The storm that followed, tore the ship afloat and carried towards Riguldi manor. Iron parts were chopped out of the loose parts that reached the shore of Riguldi manor.
