Story of Sinking: | On her way from Saint Petersburg to Arbroath, the Norwegian ship (captain H. P. Larsen) stranded at Osmussaar Island early in the morning (between 3 and 4 a.m.) on 14 September (N.S.). At that moment the ship was located 59º 34' N and 22º 27' E. The ship obtained a leakage. At 7 p.m. the ship capsized and foundered 1 mile off Osmussaar. The water depth at the location was 50 fathoms. At 4 p.m., the castaways were rescued by German steamer Reval that took them to Paldiski. | ||
