Story of Sinking: | In a very strong storm, the French ship (skipper J. Collet) got stuck between two rocks near Vaindloo island. Men from Sagadi and Vihula rescued 10 members of the crew. One man who had been on board the ship was found dead on the following day and buried at sea. The ship was sitting deep in the sea due to the leakage and therefore it was impossible to reach the cargo. There were high breakers around the wreck. The wreck disappeared in the storm of 15 November. | ||
