Story of Sinking: | The English ship (captain B. Gales) was on her way from Ardrossan to Kronstadt, was damaged in a storm and ran aground at Neugrund shoal near Osmussaar Island. On 15 May 1869 (N.S), the crew abandoned the ship and the skipper searched for help from land. On 17 May 1869 the ship quickly filled with water. On 19 May 1869 the ship was already breaking into pieces. | ||
